A week ago, my partner Grace Dillon and I met with a representative from Cat’s Cradle. This local organization focuses on saving cats from being euthanized in shelters, cats that need to be rehoused, or strays. They have been a part of the Harrisonburg community since 1998 and have had a close relationship with JMU for many years. This particular nonprofit requires just as many volunteers as it does full time employees. They need people to socialize the cats by coming into the office to play with them or actually foster them in their own homes. This provides great opportunities for the JMU community.
We met with Diana Black who has been so eager to help us through this entire process. It has been a very smooth ride as they have worked hard to provide us with most of the information we need to put together their grant. It’s pretty hard not to enjoy working with this organization considering all of the cute pictures of their cats they have provided us.
My partner and I are excited to try and help them continue their successes within our local community. If you’re looking for a place to get involved outside of campus and you love adorable kittens like the one pictured above, I definitely recommend contacting Cat's Cradle. They have the sweetest staff and the sweetest clients!
