This week, my partner Amber and I have been working on the grantor/grantee process with our partner agency, Healthy Families of Page County. While the agency works on writing the majority of the grant, they have given us the task of doing some background research for their proposed program.
Healthy Families of Page County is working towards initiating a program that would work with incarcerated parents and the families of those individuals. Our research includes statistics regarding the effects of having an incarcerated parent, the greatest needs of those families and effective resources, and also training materials for the agency’s staff.
As we research these areas, we are excited to partner with the agency to further develop a program description and identify needs and available resources. The agency has identified a significant need regarding clients they serve who have incarcerated family members. It is an incredible opportunity to partner with an agency to recognize community needs and propose potential programs in order to better serve our community.
We are anxious to learn from our research and see how this impacts the program and program implementation for Healthy Families of Page County.
